The Ball is fast approaching and all the tickets have not yet been sold. I cannot be there as the London Oratory School Scola is giving a concert in Glasgow that evening as our guests. Boys have to wear dinner suits and girls their usual designer LONG frocks ... Do please come if you can, the event is in the Sheraton and has auctions and other entertainments. Lady Biddulph has the tickets or you can buy online here.

Tee-shirts for the Nairobi Community Health-Workers

Alice has arranged for tee-shirts as a kind of uniform for the Community Health Workers, who are all enormously and justifiably proud of their work. This will give them a clear "brand" and each worker will be issued with two. The West of Scotland Companions are meeting the cost as a very worthwhile morale-boosting project.

Lady Bruntisfield at the Remand Prison Clinic.

The first of this year's excursions to visit the TB/HIV clinics run in Nairobi by the Order of Malta/Malteser International, took place from February 11th -21st. As well as the 13 young people and four staff from St Aloysius' College, the group was accompanied by Jane Stodart, Jan Bruntisfield and Liam Devlin. Among other privileges, we were allowed to visit the Clinic in the Remand Prison in the Industrial Area where great work is going on both with the prisoners and with the surrounding community. We were left in no doubt of the crucial importance of the Community Health Workers to whom Alice Murphy introduced us and the value placed on our spiritual and financial support.
