The first of this year's excursions to visit the TB/HIV clinics run in Nairobi by the Order of Malta/Malteser International, took place from February 11th -21st. As well as the 13 young people and four staff from St Aloysius' College, the group was accompanied by Jane Stodart, Jan Bruntisfield and Liam Devlin. Among other privileges, we were allowed to visit the Clinic in the Remand Prison in the Industrial Area where great work is going on both with the prisoners and with the surrounding community. We were left in no doubt of the crucial importance of the Community Health Workers to whom Alice Murphy introduced us and the value placed on our spiritual and financial support.
